INTRODUCING BLOG POPZ: THE SWEETEST WAY TO GIVE PROPS TO FELLOW BLOGGERS
(Scranton, PA) – Cool Baby Kid, a product review site finding cool products for moms, babies and kids, launched a blogger recognition program called “Blog Popz” in conjunction with four partner bloggers including The Not-So-Blog Blog, Ohana Mama, Suzy Q Homemaker and From Dates to Diapers. With over $400 in prizes to give away with the first edition of Blog Popz, the Valentine’s Edition, it’s sure to be a hit!
Bloggers are able to “purchase” a lollipop, or popz, widget by heading to one of five candy stores, each representing a different color/category such as “Love,” by following the specific directions on each blog. With five categories to choose from, bloggers are able to recognize fellow colleagues by giving them a pop with colors representing categories: Love meaning “I love your blog,” Mentor meaning “You’ve been a great mentor,” Cute meaning “You’re blog is cute,” Friend meaning “You’re a terrific blog friend,” and Favorite meaning “You blog is one of my favorites.”
Cecelia, the creator of Blog Pops, wanted a way to recognize the bloggers who help build the Baby Kid Blogs, including Smart Baby Kid, an educational review site and Ask Baby Kid, a blog about parenting and blogging. In collaboration with Bridgette from The Not-So-Blog Blog who masterminded the idea of candy stores to help cross-promote Blog Popz, a system was devised which will help bloggers send messages while interlinking blogs, gaining exposure for both giver and receiver. An added incentive to buy and receive pops, a “biggest Popz purchaser” along with the blog receiving the most popz in each category will have their choice of a range of prizes including the grand prize $250.00 gift certificate to Corky and Company Coats at KidsCoats.com.
Every few months new editions of Blog Popz will be released, beginning on January 9, 2009 with its inaugural Valentine’s Edition, the sweetest way to recognize fellow bloggers this Valentine’s season.
