Taking a break today from cool picks to share a story which recently came to my attention from Jolly Mom about a fellow mother, Victoria, and her daughter, Gwendolyn who can use our help. “Gwendolyn was born perfectly healthy October 2007. Unfortunately, at 9 weeks old she became very ill and was eventually diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy or SMA.” SMA is the #1 genetic killer of infants and the medical community is very close to a cure. Victoria and her husband started an online petition; the goal is 10,000 signatures so that they can be taken to Congress in the Spring.
Cool Action: Visit the link to Jolly Mom above for more information on SMA and sign the petition to raise the profile of this disease. To learn more about Gwendolyn, visit http://www.gwendolynstrong.com/

Such a worthy cause!! I signed the petition.
Thanks for spreading the word. I checked it out and signed the petition. Such a sweet little girl.
Thanks ladies. Appreciate that…
