There has been a lot of research done lately about chemicals in baby products, in no wonder that parents are looking for products that are toxin free and safe for them to use with their children. One of the biggest issues recently has been BPA, and like so many moms I have been vigilant about finding products that are BPA free and safe for me to use with my newest daughter, Emmy, who is 1 month old. Even though I am breastfeeding, I am still of the mind that it is important for Emmy to know how to use and to accept taking a bottle…this allows me a little freedom and allows my husband to bond with her (although if you ask him I am sure he would tell you that he would rather deal with bonding in a different way). I had bottles left over from my older girls, but when the research and news hype about toxins and BPA came out, I trashed all of the bottles and went looking for some new, safe ones.
Emmy has no problem using these bottles (she has rejected the other bottles I bought as back-ups) and she doesn’t seem to have any gas issues when using these. The nipples and bottles themselves have been designed with the Airwave Venting System, which is designed to reduce colic and gassiness issues, and from what I have seen it does help with gas and swallowing air. Overall, what do I think? I like the Dr. Weil bottles, they are made out of safe materials for babies and moms don’t have to worry that their child is drinking something that has leached chemicals. I also appreciate the venting system since it helps create a more comfortable baby. The bottles are more expensive than some of the others on the market, but they are simple, safe, and easy to use.
