It all started with a post promoting the Tag, You’re It! “Celebrity Packing Party” trip to Hollywood contest from LeapFrog. Happy to promote one of my all-time favorite companies, never in a million years did I imagine I would be soon heading to Beverly Hills as the “blogger winner” of the contest. Dragging my mother along…well maybe dragging isn’t the right word…we boarded a plane cross-country where the royal treatment began right at the airport. I will admit choosing a welcome drink for my room is not the typical greeting I receive from my driver. Especially since my driver is usually my husband or myself. Courtesy of LeapFrog and the luxurious accommodations at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, we were treated to magnificent accommodations and service for the weekend.
The best part was the party itself hosted by Jayneoni Moore whose Children’s Fund, children’s wear designs, and Access Hollowood gig makes her a certified Double Duty Diva. After gathering donated Leapfrog Tag Reading Systems, she and other celebrity moms such as Marissa Jaret Winokur, host of The Talk daytime talk show (CBS) who I actually met at Disney Social Media Moms in 2009, as well as Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty) and other super cool gals packed up the systems to send to kindergarden kids struggling to read in a low income public schools.
I’m personally a huge fan of LeapFrog as both a parent and educator. Just today a package arrived with goodies we purchasedforChristmas. Santa will be bringing three Tag Learn to Read Book Packs and Tag Reader cases to keep it all organized. We also purchased a few other Tag Books (picked up Toy Story 3 at WalMart last night) and are excited to start using the system more extensively now with an arsenal of books for both our 2 and 4 year olds.
Thank you again LeapFrog for helping teach my kids to read and learn while having fun too. And thank you for the spectacular trip!
