The Lion King: Timon’s Tale
The kids’ favorite iPad apps, not surprisingly, are nearly all Disney including their newest favorites “The Lion King: Timon’s Tale” and “Tangled: Storybook Deluxe“. For the longest time we couldn’t find our Lion King DVD so the kids didn’t know one of their mom’s favorite Disney films of all time. After finding in when I bought a new car, it amazingly worked fine after languishing on the car floor for an undetermined about of time. Lion King characters and songs are not familiar to them just in time for this brand new Disney Publishing Worldwide app for iPhone and iPad. The Lion King: Timon’s Tale re-tells the classic story with tons of interaction, animation and music. Every time users see a chalk swipe they integrate into the story. My son’s favorite is the screen transformation pictured above and the title screen he helps to unveil. Watch the short video below to see the app in action.
Tangled: Storybook Deluxe
Any respectable Disney fan with young children is in love with the newest princess, Rapunzel. What may be my favorite Disney film of all time (hard to decide between Tangled an Princess and the Frog) now has it’s own iPhone and iPad app, “Tangled: Storybook Deluxe“. As the name suggested, the app is built around the story of young Rapunzel who befriends Flynn Rider on her quest to see the lights and find her true identity. Following along word by word supports young readers interwoven with video clips from the movie. The clips love Pascal’s playfulness as he “drops in” to the story as well as the lantern game. I’ve been known to grab the iPad and take over “helping” the kids as lanterns fill the sky in a race against the clock. A gorgeous app worthy of the Disney name, my family highly recommends even with a $6.99 price tag. See the video below to watch it in action.
