Pottery Barn Kids: Safari Collection Sale

Both of our children have Pottery Barn Kids bedrooms, Pottery Barn Kids backpacks and Anywhere Chairs. Their shared bathroom is decorated in the Jordan pattern making us a certifiable Pottery Barn Kids family. I have Google alerts set of for PBK kids’ sales and have been a loyal customer since children came into our lives. If there’s something new and cool at PBK, I’m on it. Especially when there’s also a sale.

Recently we had a chance to check out the Lion Safari Collection backpack and tolietry bag pictured above. Since we’re heading to Walt Disney World, Animal Kingdom Lodge  it was a perfect segway into showing the kids a video of our accomidations. Since my daughter uses her old PBK preschool backpack for her “people” (mini-Disney figurines), the Lion Safari backpack, also on the smaller side, now houses my son’s people as well since he told us, “I want people too.”

Join the club son. So does mom.

As with most PBK items, these can be personalized and, as Cool Baby Kid readers know, I’m a sucker for personalization. Budget concious readers are in luck as the Safari Wall Decals, Safari Animal Bookends and Pillow Shams choosen by esteemed National Geographic and the sleeping bags are all one sale! While you’re shopping sale, their Spring Break Sale also offers 20$ off on towels and backpacks plus accessories. And since I have a Google Alert for PBK backpacks, I can tell you with confidence, when they’re on sale, grab them!

LeapFrog is devoted to early childhood education and literacy.  Having worked with them for year on Cool Baby Kid, I’ve been proud to partner on multiple LeapFrog campaigns such as donating Tag Readers to school.

Some facts:

  • LeapFrog is paving the way for others to help thousands more children to learn to read with Tag™, the #1 selling reading system.
  • LeapFrog wants to help bring $100,000 total in Tag Readers and books to classrooms in need; LeapFrog has donated $50,000 and will match donations dollar for dollar up to $50,000
  • LeapFrog has partnered with DonorsChoose.org, a classroom charity organization, to help teachers who want Tag Readers and books for their classroom.

Having worked with them once before utilizing DonorsChoose.org,  I was excited to receive a $25 code to use on the site.  My own children are preschoolers and as an English teacher literacy is important to me which led me to this particular project:

iPad + Kids = Potential Disaster *iGuy Giveaway*

For us, “potential” was a reality when our iPad was accidentally dropped on the floor by our son.  The screen smashed as did our desire to let them use the expensive device. With so many cool and educational iPad apps, the answer to our dilemma hinged on a majorly protective iPad cover–one designed specifically for kids. However, most kids’ covers are designed for iPad 2, but luckily iGuy came into our lives one sunny day in March with the ability to protect all iPads. He arrived on our doorstep and become the new favorite guy in our house almost instantly. Mom and dad were thrilled with the foam protection, and the kids have a blast standing him up to play games and shaking his hands.

Here’s a typical conversation from one sibling to another: “Can I have iGuy please?” And the response, “Sure, here you go!” OK, OK…maybe it’s more like, “I WANT iGUY!” with the response, “No, I’m using him.” We think of  iGuy by Speck Products  an opporunity to teach lessons in sharing.

Admittedly it’s not an easy lesson as Tmple Run is hard for me to give up.
