Dinosaur Train Footed PJs for Buddy Lovers

In Dinosaur Train young viewers join Buddy and his adoptive family of Pteranodons on whimsical adventures through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans as they unearth basic concepts in natural science, natural history and paleontology. A Parents’ Choice Recommended TV series, Dinosaur Train’s website also received a Parents’ Choice Silver Award and was the recipient of a prestigious 2010 Prix Jeunesse Award.
Dinosaurs…trains…scientific thinking and skills. How does it get better than that for a preschooler? And now that the Striped Footed Dinosaur Train PJs (available at Kohl’s 2T-5T for $26) kids can stay warm in style. My son loves the dino feet and even tried to show Buddy: “Look who’s on my feet!” he exclaimed. Obsessed with all things Buddy, and PBS for that matter as Super Why! mania has also hit our household) the PBS website is bookmarked on the kids’ laptop. (Yes…the kids laptop. No way are they getting near mama’s Mac while we do want them to learn computer and keyboard skills.)

Guest Review: Splendid Littles for Target

ZZ Top said it best, “Every girl crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed man” and I have taken it to heart. I love dressing my boys and recently I found Splendid Littles to help me do just that. Splendid Littles can be found at Target.com, and they make pieces that are chic and way affordable.
I was given the opportunity to review the Blue 2 piece Long-Sleeved Polo and Pant Set. When I first touched it I was surprised by how thin the fabric is. It is also extremely soft too. I washed it immediately and was surprised that it came out of the wash even softer than before. I didn’t think that was possible. Since Oliver is only 10 weeks old (today, OMG!) I put a onesie on under the polo. He weighs about 11 1/2 pounds and the 0-3 month size fits him perfectly. He has short little legs just like his brother so typically pants are too big for him and the top is too tight. This was definitely not the case with Splendid Littles. That impressed me the most!
Another thing that I was impressed by was the attention to detail. There are three buttons on the polo shirt (and all three needed to be unbuttoned to get it over Mr. Oliver’s huge noggin,) and there is also a little pocket on the shirt. The pants themselves have a huge elastic waist that I love because it helps them to stay up. For $16.99 you can purchase the same set that I reviewed on Target.com.

When my mother saw the Rothschild jacket hanging by the door, I was surprised to learn she once bought the brand for myself and my siblings 30 years ago. Kathy Karen is a children’s boutique which was the only gig in town years ago for special occasion clothing for kids. “Nonnie” remembered buying Rothschild jackets from this shop which brought back memories for me as well. After reading the story of Samuel Rothschild, a Frankfurt born itinerant peddler who sold coats to workers in Pennsylvania from his horse-drawn cart, I was not surprised that my own Pennsylvania family grew up wearing the brand. Even more enthusiastic about the brand whose legacy began in my own state where winer coats become a before winer officially hits. The Sporty Snowflake Winter Jacket for Girls we own has already made it’s debut with temperatures dipping into the 40s this week. With a matching hat and scarf, this is the perfect jacket for school and snow.
Rothschild coats and jackets range from infants and toddler to bigger kids with both boys and girls styles. A boys wool dress coats is high on my own wish list along with their Sweet Juliet Wool Capelet Coat for girls in either red or charcoal. Tough decision. My first thought when my son first tried on the Zio Sport Unisex Half-Zip Performance Pulloverwas likely not what the co-founders had in mind for their product. He looked handsome! Maybe because the black and tan colors made him appear more grown up, but within minutes he received more than one compliment.
