Unisex , Supersoft Baby Designs by Tipitipi

There’s soft, and there’s SOFT! What will strike you right away about Tipitipi’s line of long and short sleeved onsies is the quality of the material. Here’s why: ” 100% cotton single jersey, woven in Portugal…it is super combed which means an extra softness and excellent durability through washings. It features a comfortable stretch and it is a fine but strong cotton thanks to its density (50´s/1) and weight.” Whatever the reason , the softness along with unique designs like the lamb long sleeved onsie (pictured) make Tipitipi stand out from the crowd. Their site, stylish and fun, makes window shopping a pleasure. Also a nice touch are their matching bibs so outfits can stay intact.

Unique Designer Children’s Clothing: Handpicked Pumpkin

Couture for kids. Essentially Hand Picked Pumpkin, a line of unique, designer baby clothing, allows your baby or kid to own completely customized apparel, probably before their parents! But for the little ones, hand Picked Pumpkin does exactly that. A whole new way to shop, choose from the shirt dress which we love (pictured), to rompers, tops, bottoms, and more. Next, customize your piece from a selection of colors and fabrics; I’ve seen swatches of fabrics and can vouche that they are as adorable in person as they look on the site. The result is a completely unique baby gift or personalized piece for your own baby or toddler. Something for Mom: Cashmere Scarf by Nimli

Though the tag line for Cool Baby Kid is “products and resources for moms, babies and kids,” as in real-life the mom finds sometimes are overwhelmed by picks for the kiddos. I recently found an online boutique, Nimli, with items for both, and although they carry an entire line for kids, from apparel to furniture and bedding, I’m focusing on mom for a change and the green products that make you feel good about your purchases. Nimli, founded in New York City in 2003 by entrepreneur Rajat Arora, “is one of the most environmentally mindful retailers due to [their] practice and policy that requires all designers to ship their products directly to our customers” with a host of organic and recycled product choices. My family teases me that I’m afraid of color, (I see nothing wrong with tan and black,) but I will admit that wearing their Azuri Classic Pashmina Cashmere Scarf in Azure makes me feel pretty chic. So here’s to taking time for mom to be stylish too every now and then!

Cool Tip: Nimli has a variety of sale items like their dresses and tops at 30%-60% off.

Corky Coats & Other Cool Kids’ Clothing: Gingersnaps Kids

Readers were asking about them, my friends kids’ were wearing them, so I finally decided to investigate the Corky Coats phenomenon. If you’ve never heard of them, join the club. But suddenly, maybe because my daughter is at an age to wear them, it’s all the rage. And after receiving the Nana’s Favorite coat from Gingersnaps Kids, I do see what all the fuss is about. You really just have to see these jackets to understand why everyone needs one. Even more exciting for me, however, was finding Gingersnaps Kids. Their line includes other favorites such as Kate Mack and Jamie Rae Hats. You can also shop the clearance bin or even suggest a product. Shhh…don’t tell anyone…but often I find product picks for CBK by browsing through a site that knows cool stuff. And this one does!

Holiday Hair Bows: Pink Bowtique

This is my hair bow history in a nutshell. My daughter was born in 2006, and I decided to make my own bows. After finding instructions for making hair bows online, I did just that for nearly a year. Another baby and three blogs later, there is just no time to make them myself. Plus, there was a reason I didn’t even own a glue gun. Crafts and I don’t normally get along. The problem, then, was not wanting to pay for bows after making them myself. Finding a shop like Pink Bowtique, I feel much better about buying them since the bows (and headband, hats, etc.) are reasonably priced and so much nicer than anything I could have concocted. The holiday bow pictured, if I attempted such a thing, would easily have taken a week to create. If you’re looking for bows that turn heads, look no further. Their collection of holiday hair bows and holiday baby girl headbands are so adorable your hardest decision will be to choose between them. Specializing in elaborate and unique designs, Pink Bowtique also carries classic bows, but I guarantee once seeing their collection you’ll decide to go over the top.

Time to Play Dress-Up

My Princess Closet

A friend recently asked me, “Do you think all of the princess stuff is too much? Do you think it perpetuates a culture of self-indulged girls?” My answer…from a self-proclaimed feminist acutely aware of women’s issues and very knowledgeable of the aggressive marketing campaign targeted toward young girls…NO WAY! Every girl is a princess at some point, whether that means dressing up like one or treating themselves to a day of pampering. And when I discovered My Princess Closet I knew we were a match made in heaven. An online boutique catering to little princesses, they have an entire section devoted to dress up like the Ballerina in A Box (pictured) which includes everything a budding ballerina needs to transform into a fairy princess. A Place to Display Your Little Picaso’s Artwork

Catching Fireflies

My daughter eats crayons. My husband and I long for the day when we can go out to eat and have a ready-made activity in coloring, but since she insists on eating crayons, currently this is difficult. When she finally decides to create her first masterpiece, we have the perfect place to display it…on a brag board handmade by a.i. paper design at Catching Fireflies. Choose from boards inscribed with everything from “The Latest Masterpiece” to “Super Student” with or without a personalized photo. So much more special than the refrigerator. The adorable brag board pictured is just a small sampling of the products offered by Catching Fireflies, an online shop inspired by two storefronts in Michigan of the same name. You will spend more time than you have browsing this whimsical shop…from inspirational products (a personal favorite of mine), to kitchen decor and girlie goodies, if you can imagine it, you can find it at this super cool store.

Cool Tip: Looking for unique Halloween tricks and treats…you’ve come to the right place!
