Baby Basics Diapers: A Less Expensive Alternative That Works

One of the many costs that comes with having a baby are diapers. They are one of the few products that you need from the moment the baby arrives and for many years to come. Parents change thousands of diapers before their kids are ready for the potty. As the mom of three kids, I have bought my share of diapers and recently tested Baby Basics diapers on my 3 month old daughter. Baby Basics are created by Supervalu and are available at Acme, Albertson and Shaw and other stores. The Baby Basics diapers have a soft paper cover, a double layer of elastic around the leg openings and attach with two stretchy fasteners to the front of the diaper. The design on the size 2 diapers includes green and purple stripes with a pink bunny and the words “B is for Bunny” on the front and a second bunny on the back.

While the most important factor to me when buying diapers is cost, absorbency and a good fit are also important. After all, the cheapest cheapest diapers are not worth the cost if they are constantly leaking and forcing you to spend more money on laundry detergent. Baby Basics are comparable to that of the brand name diapers with a stretchy waistband to fit my baby well. As far as absorbency and leak protection I had no complaints. We didn’t have a single leak when my daughter was wearing these diapers and which included overnight as sleeps for a twelve hours stretches. With other diapers we have tried we have had leaks out the legs as well as up the back so clearly the elastic legs and waist on these diapers provide good protection. Best of all is the cost of the Baby Basics diapers. At approximately $6.99 for their jumbo pack, these diapers were significantly cheaper per diaper than other store brands that we have tried.

mBretts Diaper Bag & Tote: Editor’s Top Pick {Giveaway}

Like many of the best products for mom and baby, the mBretts tote was born of necessity. Tired of the diaper bag “black hole,” a mom of two decided to design a tote with sections galore. After two babies, my own diaper bag took a beating, and I was more than thrilled to replace it with a new tote. Plus, since both are toddlers, a less diaper bag looking style suited me perfectly. The small mBretts brown bag look more like and oversized purse, but with storage for two sippies and all of the other necessities. One section hold wipes, diapers and a portable potty, while another houses toys and snacks and a third for all of mom’s stuff. Sure enough…it ROCKS! I only wish the design was my own as I mourn all of the good ideas that could have been mine. Sofi & Liv Boo Boo Blam: Treats Rashes, Bites, Dryness…

Sofi & Liv is an incredible, natural balm that will help to heal existing diaper rashes and protects against diaper rash and flare ups. I used it on my three year old and I was impressed by the difference it makes! Although she is potty trained she still has occasional redness. After one use I noticed that the redness had faded significantly. I have continued to use 2-3 times per week. The natural ingredients include grape seed oil, Vitamin A and Vitamin D and can also be used on cuts, boo-boos and for dryness. I have also used it to soothe bug bites and it has worked well. The balm is also made in the USA. The 2 oz. container will last for several months and we know that you will love it so much that you will order more right away. (Cute website too…)

Baby Kid’s Make-Believe Boutique

When I first encountered Baby Bonkie early in my review days my first thought was I wish I could own a children’s boutique just to sell this item. My second thought was I already owned a cosmetics company and a second company was not in the cards. A year later, after reviewing another perfect product, Tutu Legz, I decided it was time to make good on my boutique. The following products represent ones I’ve personally reviewed which would be sold in a children’s boutique if I owned one, which I don’t. Have fun shopping around my make-believe boutique.
