Meet the newest addition to the Cabbage Patch Kids family…the Fashionistas! They remind me of Audrey from Mom Generations…super hip and always in style. As an 80′s child, I can’t begin to explain my excitement when our doll arrived with a birth certificate bearing my name! In 4th grade a girl named Renee brought a Cabbage Patch doll to school and everyone, including me, wanted one more than anything else in the whole world. The only problem was the difficulty parents of Cabbage Patch crazed kids like myself had in actually obtaining them.

Because my mother is the absolute best in the world, she stood outside in line at Toys R Us to bring home Catherine, my very own brown-haired Cabbage Patch doll. Much to my delight, I was able to share a hip version with my own daughter. Updated and super cool like their 80′s proteges, the Cabbage Patch Kids Fashionistas  got game. From artsy and dressy to girly and preppy, these cutie pies sport khakis, Mohawks and berets.  And one lucky Cool Baby Kid reader will receive a personalized birth certificate and Cabbage Patch Fashionista to “match” their parent!

Corolle Dolls and Accessories: A Cool Baby Kid *Top Pick*

While I haven’t been to France’s Loire Valley, I hear it’s  “famous for its scenic beauty and fairytale-like castles” which is right up my fairy-tale loving daughter’s alley. The birth place of Corolle dolls sounds divine, but their creations will have to suffice for now as a trip to France isn’t on our immediate agenda…though I wish it were otherwise. Out of the box the wonderful baby smell was my first impression along with their softnessgiving them receive a high cuddly-factor.

Go! Go! Sports Girls *Giveaway*

As a teacher, along with colleagues, I started a program for middle schoolers called GIRLS Night Out which, an overnight “lock in” filled with activities and educational sessions to empower girls to make good decision entering high school. And while the boys wanted to know “Where’s boys night?” we did feel a special responsibility encourage positive role models for these young women. Hot Holiday Toy Prediction: Squinkies {Giveaway}

Last year we attended the Time to Play Holiday Showcase and watched the Toy Guy share the hottest toys of the season.  Alternatively, a few weeks ago when I opened a box and pulled out  Squinkie Surprize! Inside Bubble Pack, my first thought was “this is going to be a hot holiday toy.”  Toy Guy take note…we’ve tons of toys, and Squinkies Surprize! Inside, manufactured by Blip Toys, are going to be the next big thing.

Squinkies are soft, squishy micro dolls that come in “bubble packs” or with playsets and bracelets.  There are collections of adorable Squikies such as babies, pets or ponies identifiable by number and searchable on their website by most wanted and most popular.  ”Surprize Inside” refers to the unique packaging of Squinkies in mini bubbles and the playshouses in which you place a coin to have a surprise Squinkie arrive at the door.  Choose from Gumball Surprize! Bake Shop, Gumball Surprize! Playhouse or Playset or Tea Time Surprize! Playset that each come with their own set of Squinkie dolls.

We personally tried our the Gumball Surprize! Playhouse  and our four year old never seems to tire of inserting the Squinkie coin (use pennies or dimes too) and turning the dial to find a Squinkie surprise at the door.  She is also a fan of the Princess Surprize!
