mBretts Diaper Bag & Tote: Editor’s Top Pick {Giveaway}

Like many of the best products for mom and baby, the mBretts tote was born of necessity. Tired of the diaper bag “black hole,” a mom of two decided to design a tote with sections galore. After two babies, my own diaper bag took a beating, and I was more than thrilled to replace it with a new tote. Plus, since both are toddlers, a less diaper bag looking style suited me perfectly. The small mBretts brown bag look more like and oversized purse, but with storage for two sippies and all of the other necessities. One section hold wipes, diapers and a portable potty, while another houses toys and snacks and a third for all of mom’s stuff. Sure enough…it ROCKS! I only wish the design was my own as I mourn all of the good ideas that could have been mine. The Mission: Getting Kids to Help With Chores {Cool Tip}

Here’s a neat find…the Chore Chart from ExcelRainMan.com. A unique website which allows users to submit spreadsheet related questions and requests for jobs large and small, some pre-designed templates are available for download. One of those spreadsheets is called the “Chore Chart,” an Excel spreadsheet for keeping track of chores which can be customized for your child’s age, the month/year of the chores, and specific chores. Once you download the chart for a small $5 fee and customize it for your family, just print it out, get some stickers to track the progress, and you’re off! We all know kids must start young with taking responsibility even for small chores. For instance, my 3 year old “folds the laundry” with me, and though she typically does more unfolding than folding, she understand the basic principle of helping out. A chore chart is a handy way to visually depict chores, progress and rewards, and this little app is a perfect companion for keeping track. ExcelRainman.com also offers apps like the KiddoCalendar and BudgetBuster…definitely worth checking out!

Sherpani Laptop Bag in Tow, Off to BlogHer I Go! {Coupon}

Check out the newest addition to “What We Love Right Now” on the left sidebar. Look familiar? It’s my favorite accessory for the big BlogHer conference (pictured), the same conference allowing us to give over $900 in products to one lucky Top Picks Giveaway winner this Sunday.

Great things are made to look easy. Picture Keeper finds all of your pictures, and since it’s software runs right from the USB drive, you can save pictures from multiple computers. Most moms I know make taking pictures of their kids a part-time hobby; keeping all of those precious memories safe is a snap with Picture Keeper. Much easier than figure skating or staying away from Edy’s Slow Churned ice cream!

Oliver’s Labels: Labels for Kids with Tracking Too

Cool Baby Kid has found the best labels for your kids’ stuff; Oliver’s Labels has revolutionized the label industry with their unique, free Found It feature. Their product line includes the original adorably designed label as well as mini-labels, bag tags, shoe and clothing labels and even fashion inspired designs. One of my favorites are the Stick-eez clothing labels which you can simply stick onto the clothing label…no ironing necessary. I also love the mini-labels which are small enough for spoons or even pencils and, like the original, are safe for refrigerator, microwave or dishwasher. Our child care provider uses them to label sippy cups and is impressed at how well they’ve held up to repeated washings!

But the truly unique feature which sets Oliver’s Labels apart from any other label company is Found It, (pictured) an optional feature which allows you to have a number code printed on your labels and register an email address. If lost (and found) the finder is prompted to enter the code on their webpage and Oliver’s Labels acts as an intermediary notifying you of the find. Is that cool or what? Though we haven’t lost anything yet I went through the process which worked like a charm and was so impressed at the ingenuity of this feature.
