pediped: Machine Washable Shoes, Woo-hoo! {Giveaway}

When looking for my daughter’s first pair of shoes I made the mistake of buying a pair of sneakers with a thick rubber sole. She didn’t get very far in them. They didn’t bend or conform to her feet all, and I had to give up on them. Since then I got a chance to try pediped originals for my 8 month old daughter. Instead of a thick sole, pediped infant and toddler shoesshape to your child’s foot which helps prevent them from slipping around in the shoe.

They also introduced new features including Memory Foam Technology (MFT) which are a bit sportier and more flexible as they conform to kids’ feet. And they’re so cute! Pediped Joins Forces with Make a Wish Foundation

Cool Baby Kid is committed to children’s charities donating 100% of proceeds of the Charitable Sponsorship to them. Since the inception of this unique blog sponsor program, over $300 has been donated to Ronald McDonald House and Make a Wish Foundation by various sponsors.

From Jan. 6th to Feb. 5th, pediped® footwear will host a Purchases with Purpose fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Polliwalks Sharkie Clogs: Shoes That Entertain {Giveaway}

When Cool Baby Kid originally reviewed Polliwalks in the Fall of 2008 it was one of our most popular posts. Why? Because they are so stinkin’ adorable! Kid’s clog shoes are mom’s favorite summer shoe…easy on and off, wipeable and durable, they are staples to ever toddler and kid shoe collection. Unlike most, however, Polliwalks are also stylish with animal faces that also entertain. I recently held off my 1 year old in the grocery line by taking off his Sharkie shoe (pictured) and playing Jaws with him. Other cool new designs include the Fish Lips which change color and Fire Fly shoe that actually light up. And in case you’re new to Polliwalks, I have to point out the imprinting feature; get them wet on the bottom and watch animals prints appear as your child walks. To date I haven’t see anything quite like Polliwalks which is why they remain one of Cool Baby Kid’s *Top Picks* of all time!

Kidorable Raingear for Kids: What We Love Right Now

Cool Baby Kid readers can always see what we love right now by checking out the sidebar under that title. These items include products we are currently using ourselves that are favorites of ours. The newest addition to “What We Love Right Now” is Kidorable; the name fits! The most adorable raingear for kids including coats, umbrellas and boots with themes such as ladybug, fireman, dolphin or frog, Kidorable is cutter than anything you’ve seen at a local department store. Specializing in kids raincoats and childrens raingear, they also carry (which is top on my list for winter) knitwear with the same super cute patterns.

My son’s new pirate raingear was an instant his at the caregiver’s with his little pirate flag sticking out the top of the new umbrella. Luckily it rained the very next day after we received the set; likely I would have made him wear it anyway. The pirate hood/hat and sword-like handle on the umbrella are my favorite touches. Even Tim Bete, author of Guide to Pirate Parenting, would be proud of his authentic-looking pirate gear. The hardest part will be choosing a design. Cute is an understatement when describing my new favorite company and what we love right now which is why Kidorable has earned a *Top Pick* Seal of Approval.

Nowali Moccasins: Super Cool Soft Soled Kids Footwear

A unique footwear/sock hybrid, Nowali moccasins, our newest find, have character which so many products today are missing. Nowa Li began producing traditional moccasins in Sweden over 50 years ago and the stitching is still sewn by hand today. We tried the brown Confetti moccasin and while she’s slightly too young to tell me if they are comfortable (when asked she said “yes” but to be fair she says “yes” when I ask if she hit her brother) I can’t imagine they are anything but. And with sizes from 6 months to adult you can easily find out for yourself ! I can say she wouldn’t let me take them off the first time we put them on so through the entire bedtime routine from brushing teeth to reading books she wore new new moccasins until finally I pried them off before bed. Soft soled Nowali moccasins would perfect for new walkers. I like most, though, how different they are from other footwear styles and mass produced products.

Curby’s Closet: Vintage Style Baby Shoes {& Giveaway}

Christeve Curby Anderson , founder of Curby’s Closet, claims she’s a sentimental gal for vintage doll and baby clothes and one look at her collection and you realize why. When I first opened the package and saw the quilted shoes I was immediately struck by the vintage fabric yet they didn’t look stuffy because they were offset by an adorable pink polka dot ribbon and vintage buttons. I wanted to put them in a frame right away and hang them on my daughter’s wall. I couldn’t imagine letting her wear them out and getting them dirty. However, Christeve’s assertion they would actually stay on my baby’s feet made me try them and I’m glad I did. They stayed on, and I was asked more than once where someone else could find them. Curby’s Closet is a great website to go to for not only these shoes but also blankets and vintage outfits that will surely stand out as a one of a kind present for any mom to be.
