Yunginz Children’s Shoes: Funky Footwear from Down Under

When Jenny Celebrin grew frustrated at the selection of small-sized fashionable shoes for her daughter, she did what every mom would do…teamed up with friend and fellow mom Yolanda LaGorce and started her own company! Yunginz was born in 2007 (same year as Cool Baby Kid) offering cool kids’ shoes for every size. My favorite for boys are the Sandoze Boys Strap Sandal and Butteryfly Sandeez for little girls. Australian designs give the line the same unique feel as browsing around their fantastically designed website which will have you flying like a butterfly and digging ditches….you must check it out. Cool Baby Kid has a particular fascination with children’s shoe reviews; the right shoe makes any outfit, kid or adult. Finding a great shoe company is also fun and Younginz, with funky footwear for 1-6 year olds, joins the ranks as one of my favorites.

Cool Giveaway: Yunginz Rainbow Rope shoe has a canvas outer with leather inner lining and ample strapping over top of foot to secure foot in shoe and prevent toe grabbing when walking. Looking for Easter shoes or a unique new baby gift? These extra frilly styles are a perfect fit. ShooShoos Deal Alert: More Accidental Spending

I’ve been accidentally buying things lately. For instance, yesterday I purchased two pairs of shoes from ShooShoos for my son (11M): Smiley Sports Baby Shoes (pictured) and Navy & White Soft Soled Baby Shoes. I couldn’t pass up this deal and wanted to share. Buy any Smiley or new style from their Spring range, and you’re entitled to purchase as many shoes as you’d like for $10 a pair (excluding Smileys & new styles). Quick refresher in case you’re new here…ShooShoos are my favorite shoes for baby and toddler because they are the best value for the quality you can find anywhere. They’re also quick (orders ship on weekdays within 48 hrs.) and are 100% manufactured in Cape Town, South Africa (not China). Love them.

Cool Tip: Check out the clearance soft soled leather shoes as low as $12.95!

Eleven Shoes: For the Most Discriminate Mini-Fashionplate

Fun kids’ shoes are my favorite accessory since, unlike clothes, they can be worn day after day. A few cute pair of shoes are the perfect addition to a wardrobe to fancy it up a bit. And if your kid is no longer a baby, Eleven Collection, a sister shoe company to See Kai Run, offers a unique collection of shoes for the most discriminate mini-fashonista. For ages ranging from 3-8, Eleven shoes for boys and girls are everything you’d hope for: premium leather, flexible rubber sole fr active kids, and adjustable Velcro closures for easy on and off. Co-creators Nancy Coronado and Cause Haun of See Kai Run they work together on designs to create a natural transition from See Kai Run to Eleven Collection. The company’s original goal was to “create a line of shoes that was as happening as Kai [Nancy's 2-year old son] – bold, hip, fun, with an urban sensibility,” gives back each year with their “Share a Pair,” a donating matching event. For these reasons, Smaller and See Kai Run earned Cool Baby Kid’s highest award, the *Top Pick* seal of approval.

No Girls Allowed: One Stop Boy Shop

While it’s true shopping for little girls can be fun, I was surprised when my son was born to find equally cute boy products. Making it even easier to focus on your little guy, One Stop Boy Shop is “all about the boys.” Frustrated by the lack of selection for boys versus girl clothing and accessories, Nancy, owner and mom of three boy, scours the web and also carries One Stop Boy Shop exclusives to so you and I can sit back and reap the benefits of her extensive research. With only one stop you can browse through an extensive selection of shoes, clothing and even bedroom and nursery decoration. I was impressed with the reasonably priced, soft sole leather shoes (pictured) we received that look so comfy I sometimes wish they made an adult-version. One Stop Boy Shop helps parents of boys have as much fun shopping for their tiny boyfriends as picking out bows for their female counterparts.

Cool Tip: In addition to the shoes, pop over to the PJ’s page and check out the blue camouflage print sleepers. 100% boy!

New Shoes on the Block: Smileys by ShooShoos

True story. I recently attended the 1st birthday party of a friend’s son and noticed he was wearing ShooShoos as was my own little one. (Incidentally the birthday boy was wearing Navy Helicopter and my son Brown Suede Sports.) As mentioned in a previous post, ShooShoos are the best baby shoes you’ find for their extremely reasonable price. And now having recently launched a new line of soft sole baby shoes with rubber soles called Smileys, ShooShoos are perfect for toddler too. My 2.5 year old daughter owns the Pink w/ White Dots complete with smiley faces on the bottom so she can really leave her mark (as if she doesn’t already.) ShooShoos continue to be favorite which is what keeps them on the Top 20 Picks list; and now there’s even more to smile abut with their new addition of Smileys by one of the all-time best shoe companies out there.

Cool Giveaway: Enter to win your choice of ShooShoos by commenting back here about your favorite pair of Smileys after visiting their site and checking out the new line. And in addition the normal extra entry possibilities, you can snag yet another by blogging about the giveaway with a link both to ShooShoos and this post. Not Your Average Shoe: Polliwalks

One component of review writing involves classifying the product. Is it a toy, article of clothing, website, book? Coming across a one I can’t immediately put into a category is usually a good sign, as in the case of my new favorite shoes: Polliwalks. Though definitely a shoe, it’s also part toy as they are designed to look like an animal. They are also part game since the bottom of each features a “Footprinter Bottom…the footprints of the animal that the shoe represents. Step in mud, sand, dirt or water and leave footprints behind.” My 2 year old daughter meows each time she wears her Furry Kitties (pictured). She runs through the house–which she is able to do thanks to moulded soft foam construction, and a deep heel cup and strap–chasing the real cat who isn’t quite sure what to make of either my daughter or her new shoes. As with any great product, your dilemma will be which to choose? Furry puppies and kitties are good cold weather options, while the original duck, ladybug, gator and frog comes in a variety of colors and styles. Polliwalks‘ creator, Joel Rusnak, whose background as a toy designer helped to inspire the brand, has accomplished his goal of creating a whole new category of footwear. Do you love Polliwalks too? Tell me about it.

Cool Baby Kid Loves Cool Shoes: See Kai Run

I just added See Kai Run shoes to my kids’ Wishpot Christmas list in an effort to reduce the amount of toys overflowing into the living room and increase their wardrobe with cool, hip clothing and accessories. See Kai Run are in my Top 5 Favs for good reason. First, take a look at their collection. Cute, right? Second, butter soft sheepskin leather, rubber soles for indoor and outdoor play, flexible soles, easy on/off Velcro closures…they have all the features! Third, See Kai Run also accommodates little baby feet with their Smaller collection making it a true one stop shoe shop for the kids. As if you need more reasons to love See Kai Run, it’s a mom created business who gives back to children in need of footwear. My daugher is wearing the Stella shoes as I write this review, and they are simply adorable!

Cool Giveaway: Now this is a giveaway! Both Cool Baby Kid and the all new Cool Baby Kid: Holiday Edition will be hosting a giveaway of five pairs of See Kai Run shoes to five lucky winners, including the Jake and Monica from the Smaller collection. To enter, comment on this post with your child’s gender and shoe size. Click here to find out how to increase your chances. An email address is needed to contact the winner. Contest ended. Congratulations Jen, Karen, Lee, Christina & Maureen!
