Rockabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Rock Bands {Giveaway}

WE WILL ROCK YOU….to sleep. I didn’t think there could be a soothing rendition of Fat Bottomed Girls yet Rockabye Baby’s lullaby interpretation is just that. If you are like me you do not want to subject anyone to your singing, let alone possibly have your child’s first memory be your off-key performance of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Now at bedtime I press play on Rockabye Baby’s CDs and put my Pink Floyd instrumentals to rest. With Rockabye Baby you can choose from numerous artists ranging from the Beatles to No Doubt and get a jump-start embedding some subliminal hints to ensure that you and your child will have at least one thing in common. Who could have imagined lullaby renditions and rock music
would pair so nicely.

Thank you Rockabye Baby for providing a CD for review purposes to Maggie, Cool Baby Kid writer and contributor.

Baby Bonkie: Cool Baby Kid’s Pick for Best Swaddling Blanket

I’ll never forget the day my husband came home from work telling me that the key to a new parent’s sanity was swaddling. Honestly neither of us had much experience with babies before ours so we took all the advice we could get. Some of it worked and some of it just didn’t help us but I can’t tell you where we’d be without that swaddling advice. Now once you realize that you can’t live without a swaddling blanket the next step is picking what one. From my own experience the Baby Bonkie is the best swaddling blanket one out there. The cocoon shape at the bottom prevents your baby from kicking their legs out and the multiple velcro closures don’t allow for your baby to break her arms free unlike other velcro swaddlers I’ve tried. Not only are they the most well constructed swaddlers I’ve found but they actually came about as a way for mothers to give their children a little style. True to the company’s goal, these are by far the cutest ones I’ve seen. I had a chance to review the Ava and the Maggie Minkee and not only are they adorable but they made my husband wish out loud that they made adult versions. For all the new moms out there, if you haven’t heard about swaddling before trust me this is one piece of advice you’ll want to take to heart. This is a great shower gift or gift for a new mom.

Wonder Bumpers by GoMamaGo Designs: A Top Pick

New moms…moms to be…even parents of babies or young toddlers…this one’s for you. My latest find, Wonder Bumpers by GoMamaGo designs, ranks right up there with Quick Zip Crib Sheets and Grobag Room Thermometer as a must-have product for your nursery. Wonder Bumpers, a breathable crib bumper which increases airflow and reduces the risk of SIDS, completely reinvents the crib bumper eliminating the choice new parents often have between cute but potentially hazardous traditional bumpers and styles breathable options. Wonder Bumper are both stylish and safe. The vertical bumper design also makes it easier to change crib sheets, gives you a ton of options with reversible patterns, and even inhibits older babies from climbing out of the crib! A “Why didn’t I think of that” product that makes you slightly jealous the idea wasn’t yours. But kudos to the mom creators behind GoMamaGoDesgins for thinking up such a brilliant idea and offering the rest of us a solution to common crib problems. You’ll love the soft minky feel of the bumpers and can even accessorize with matching sheets, crib skirts and pillows or purchase as a collection. A Cool Baby Kid Top Pick? Absolutely!

Mookimoo Sleepwear: No More Naked, Diaperless Toddlers

Newest Baby Kid *Top Pick* recipient Mookimoo received the seal for being a company we love and know you will too. What is a Mooki? A simple but brilliant concept for saving some sanity if you’re the parent of a toddler. Sleepwear with the zipper in back solves the problem of spontaneous apparel removal also know as naked baby syndrome. Your toddler stays clothed, dry and looks cute in the process with the zipper hidden in back. My daughter currently sports the Lil’ Surfer Mooki and has even taken to saying “my Mooki” when asking for it to wear. An added benefit according to my husband who was dressing our daughter after bathtime: “I like this Mooki…it’s easier to put on when she’s standing.” We’re heading to Disneyworld this weekend and will be taking the Mookimoo along. Made in the USA with three styles and colors available for each, this parent-invented family business is a real winner!

Cool Giveaway: Be one of three lucky Mookimoo winners. No Girls Allowed: One Stop Boy Shop

While it’s true shopping for little girls can be fun, I was surprised when my son was born to find equally cute boy products. Making it even easier to focus on your little guy, One Stop Boy Shop is “all about the boys.” Frustrated by the lack of selection for boys versus girl clothing and accessories, Nancy, owner and mom of three boy, scours the web and also carries One Stop Boy Shop exclusives to so you and I can sit back and reap the benefits of her extensive research. With only one stop you can browse through an extensive selection of shoes, clothing and even bedroom and nursery decoration. I was impressed with the reasonably priced, soft sole leather shoes (pictured) we received that look so comfy I sometimes wish they made an adult-version. One Stop Boy Shop helps parents of boys have as much fun shopping for their tiny boyfriends as picking out bows for their female counterparts.

Cool Tip: In addition to the shoes, pop over to the PJ’s page and check out the blue camouflage print sleepers. 100% boy!

Ultra Personalized Baby Blanket: Fill in the Blankie

Personalized baby blankets are the ultimate baby gift, and I’ve found ones that are ultra personalized and the one thing every baby or toddler blanket should be: soft! Fill in the Blankie, my latest cool find, takes blanket personalisation seriously. The first thing I noticed about this company? You will laugh, but as an English teacher I appreciate the play on words in their name. Though this is the same person who has a favorite word (facetious), so please excuse the nerd in me. Speaking of words, you can actually customize all four satin edges of the blanket with up to 200 characters. Browse through the blankie styles and get inspiration for text on their site. These blankets are perfect for a special gift, for birthday or christening, or just as a childhood memento for your own little one. And if you’re as impatient as me, use promo code “hurry” to have your Fill in the Blankie processed and shipped within 48 hours!

Cool Giveaway: Enter to win your very own personalized blanket (estimated value $150.00) by leaving a comment on this post with a sample of what you would say with 200 characters on your blankie?
