P’kolino Chalk Table from Maukilo *Toys & Gifts for Kids*

Want to provide your kids a platform to work on their letters, try the P’kolino Chalk Table.  The Chalk Table is sized for small kids at 24″ squared and doesn’t take up unnecessary space.  The bench style chairs easily store beneath the table when not in use and are relatively low and easy to sit on for young kids.  The table has a reversible top with a chalk board side for writing and coloring and a white painted side for hiding any chalk mess or working on crafts.  A storage area beneath the top can be used to store your writing and craft supplies.  The hole in the center allows quick removal of the top for turning or storage.  Table is very easy to assemble with pre-drilled holes and lock screws used to secure the legs of the table and bench.  After that you’re ready to go, assembly time is definitely less than an hour. In summary, if you are on a budget and are looking for a small stylish table the P’kolino Chalk Table may fit the bill.

Pour Duex Maternity Candle for Two: Gift for Expectant Moms

If you are need of a thoughtful gift for an expectant mother or want to bring a gift after the baby has arrived this candle is a great gift! Each candle is packaged in a box especially made for the babies specific birth month. The candle comes in a beautiful rich chocolate colored box with the birth month on the front and a description of the traits of that specific birth month on the back. The back of the box also notes the gemstone and flower for the particular month. The labels use that month’s colors. My daughter was born in February so the label is printed in black and violet since the February flower is violet and the gemstone is amethyst which is purple also. I like that this gives the gift a more personal touch. The candle and the glass container are tall and rectangular shaped with the birth month label on the front of the glass. The candle has to wicks-one for mom and baby. The candle is made from soy. Unlit the candle has a great powder fresh scent similar to new babies and when lit the candle burns smoothly and cleanly.

Managing All Those Pictures & Videos: Problem Solved

What is the biggest challenge for a new mom? Getting used to life without regular sleep? Nope. Figuring out when baby is hungry, whether they are too hot or too cold and countless other new considerations? Not for me. After two babies in two years, the biggest challenge for me continues to be managing all of the pictures and videos. Suddenly after my daughter was born I couldn’t put the camera down! Organizing them alone was a major chore. Do I separate them by week, month, season? After three years I’ve finally found a system that works which includes the following system:
  • After the first year, pictures and videos are organized by season, “Fall” or “Spring” for instance with pictures ion one folder and videos in another.
  • For special occasions, I use How Fast They Grow to scrapbook birthday, holidays and vacations. Each child has their own book.
  • Once a year a I order a picture book rather than attempting to manage hundred of prints.
  • Rather than having videos languish on the computer never to be seen, I create a Smilebox to showcase them along with some favorite pictures.
This way each child will have a scrapbook of major milestones, I have one book to showcase all of our pictures and videos can actually be seen as opposed to sitting on the computer. Smilebox is one of my favorite sites; just choose a theme and plug the videos (and pictures too) right in. Rather than spending time making layout decisions, Smilebox automatically sets it up for you…just pick an occasion and pop in the videos. From there you can play the Smilebox on your computer, share via email, or create a CD. My plan is to create CDs for each child that can be watched and later archived.

Twitter and Facebook for updates and insider information. Also remember to subscribe to Cool Baby Kid for other cool tips and resources.
